Create an Issuer Profile Supplement

Requirements

An issuer is required to complete an Issuer Profile Supplement on SEDI within 3 business days after the date they became a SEDI issuer. Refer to ss. 2.3 of the PDF version of NI 55-102 dated May 9, 2003.

You will need to be registered as an "issuer" or as an "agent" to perform duties on behalf of issuers.

Before you Begin

You should gather the following information:

  • issuer name
  • insider affairs contact information (issuer representative or contact person)
  • list of outstanding securities
  • confidential question and answer  (this information will be used to confirm your authorization to act on the issuer’s behalf, should you contact the CSA Service Desk at 1-800-219-5381)

How to Create an Issuer Profile Supplement

Steps to create an issuer profile supplement follow:

From the Agent or Issuer Representative home page click Create issuer profile supplement

The Select issuer screen opens

Search for the issuer by the following options:

1.        issuer number

2.        issuer name

 

Note: The issuer number is the 8-digit SEDAR profile number, including preceding zeros.

Click Search

The Select issuer screen opens with search results

Click the radio button beside the issuer to select it

Click Next

Note
: SEDI only allows one issuer profile supplement per issuer. Once an issuer has created an issuer profile supplement, the issuer does not appear in the list.

The Enter insider affairs contact information screen opens

Complete the form

Click Next

Note:
If you wish to have a printed copy of the issuer profile supplement, you can wait to print it from the Completed screen. Or, you can scroll down the screen and click Printer friendly version. The Create Issuer Profile - File Information screen opens. After printing, click the Back button located in the top left-hand side of the SEDI screen. Do not use your browser back arrows

Click File and then click OK in the dialog box

The View issuer access key screen opens

Make note of issuer access key displayed on screen or print the screen by using the browser’s print button

Click Add security designation

The Add security designation screen opens

Select a Security category in the drop-down list box

Select a Security designation in the Security name drop-down list box

If Issuer derivatives is selected as a security category (i.e. options, rights, warrants etc.), an Underlying security designation section opens on the screen.

In this section, use the drop-down list boxes and fields to provide details about the underlying security (i.e. security category, security name etc.).

If necessary, fill in the Additional description field (optional) to better describe the particular type of security being created

Maximum number of characters: 60

Note: If Other is chosen as a security name, text must be entered for the Additional description field and SEDI will display the information provided as the security designation

Click File

The Completed screen opens

To print a copy of the issuer profile supplement, click the Printer friendly version button

Click Add security designation to add another security to the issuer profile supplement or click Logout in the top navigation bar to exit from the system

Change Issuer Access Key

After successfully logging-in to SEDI, the issuer access key may be changed by:

Click Issuer profile supplement in the top right navigation bar

(If you are an agent, choose an issuer from your Issuer list and enter the correct issuer access key in the applicable field.)
